The method

What is Athletic Yoga Method

What is Athletic Yoga Method?

It is a method created by Florentina Bolohan that brings yoga, pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation into athletic preparation. The practice is built around the sport, the athlete's body and the point in the season, to support performance, recovery and sporting longevity.

How is it different from an ordinary yoga class?

It is not a generic class. It starts with an initial assessment, a plan is built around your sport and your goals, in agreement with whoever looks after your preparation, and every three months the work is reviewed and adapted.

What kind of yoga do you practise?

Different practices, brought together in one programme: mobility and motor control, myofascial work, pranayama, alignment-based yoga for stability, Restorative Yoga for deep recovery, meditation and visualisation for concentration.

Who is Florentina Bolohan?

She is the founder of Athletic Yoga Method, a yoga teacher certified in Vinyasa, Pranayama and Restorative Yoga. Her approach combines anatomy applied to movement, biomechanics and conscious breathing. The method is also taught by a team of teachers trained in the same principles.

Who it is for

Is it right for me?

Do I need to have done yoga before?

No. You don't need any yoga experience to start: the practices are adapted to your body and your level.

Is it suitable if I don't compete?

Yes. The practices are designed and adapted to each person's body and needs, whatever their experience of yoga, and suit competitive athletes and non-competitive sportspeople alike.

Which sports is it for?

Any sport. On the site you'll find dedicated pages for football, tennis, running, athletics, volleyball, basketball, surfing, boxing and climbing, but the programme can be built around any sport.

Does yoga help prevent injuries?

Targeted work on mobility, joint stability and the deep muscles helps the body move better, reduce overload and recover between sessions. That is why the programme is built around the areas your sport loads most, in agreement with whoever looks after your preparation.

The lessons

How it works

Where do the lessons take place?

At the club's sports facility, at the athlete's home or, on request, at an outside venue. We are based in Milan and Lombardy and also work throughout Italy and abroad on request. That way the practice doesn't interrupt the training routine.

Do you offer yoga lessons at home in Milan?

Yes. Private lessons take place at your home or where you train, in Milan and Lombardy: there is no studio with fixed timetables: we fit around your calendar.

One-to-one or in a group?

Both. You can practise one-to-one or in groups of up to four people, depending on the assessment by the Athletic Yoga Method team.

How do I get started?

Write to us using the buttons at the bottom of the page or book an introductory call on Google Meet. The programme starts with an initial assessment, from which the work plan is built.

How soon will I feel the benefits?

We recommend a consistent programme of at least three months to feel the benefits.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the type of programme, the frequency and the number of people. Write to us using the buttons at the bottom of the page and we will send you the most suitable proposal, with prices.

Clubs and retreats

For clubs and beyond

Do you work with clubs and teams?

Yes. The club programme is developed with strength and conditioning coaches, coaches and the coaching staff, directly at the club's facility. All the details are on the clubs page.

Can you travel with an athlete?

Yes. Athletic Yoga Method teachers can also travel with the athlete, for example to competitions abroad or elsewhere in Italy, to help them keep their routine and support them during competition.

Do you organise retreats?

Yes. The first is ROOTS 01, a surf and yoga retreat in Fuerteventura from 10 to 14 February 2027, with eight places.
