Basketball and the body
Accelerate, stop, jump
Basketball is all about sudden accelerations and stops, changes of direction, jumps and landings, with the arms often stretched overhead. Ankles, knees, hips and back work hard, through a long season with many games close together.
That is why the practice is built around the player's position, physical history and the point in the season, in agreement with whoever looks after their preparation.
What we work on
A practice built around the game
- Ankles and kneesStability and control in stops, changes of direction and landings.
- Hip mobilityTo move more freely in the defensive stance and on your first step.
- Shoulders, back and rib cageMobility and control for shooting, passing and rebounding. The aim is to free up extension and rotation of the trunk, to avoid injuries and support the body for the whole game.
- Recovery between training and gamesRestorative practices and breathing to support recovery when games come thick and fast.
- A clear head under pressureBreath and concentration to stay present at the decisive moments of the game.
The three pillars
Breath, body, mind
Breath
Breath control to manage repeated efforts and support recovery between one phase of play and the next.
Body
Mobility, alignment and myofascial work for more efficient movement with less compensation.
Mind
Meditation and visualisation for concentration and for managing pre-game stress.

How we work
Built into your preparation
The programme is built around the athlete and coordinated with their strength and conditioning coaches, in line with the season's goals. Sessions take place at your home or your club's facility, one-to-one or in small groups of up to four people.
We recommend practising consistently for at least three months to feel the benefits.
